I am deaf, and I create gadgets and designs to help improve the daily lives of people in the hearing-loss community. Born from my own personal experiences navigating an auditory-centric world, my mission is to build practical, intuitive tools that bridge communication gaps, increase accessibility, and empower individuals to live with greater independence.

To design user-first technology that solves the real-world accessibility challenges deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals face daily. We follow the core advocacy principle of nothing about us without us, ensuring that every product we create is authentically shaped by the exact community it serves.

Navigating daily life without hearing has given me a unique perspective on the world. I understand the frustration of inaccessible alarms, noisy environments, and communication barriers. Instead of waiting for tech companies to notice these needs, I decided to take action. By combining my lived experience with a passion for innovation, I design and build gadgets that transform how we experience sound, space, and conversation.

About Me

Hi, I’m Heydar Shahrestani, the founder of TheHeyShop.

I am Deaf from birth, and my journey has taught me to be creative, patient, and determined. Communication can sometimes be challenging, but technology has helped me find new ways to connect with people, learn new skills, and build my own business.

I started TheHeyShop because of my love for online shopping and technology. I often bought products from online stores such as Temu and Amazon. When I showed these products to my family, friends, and people at my Deaf club, they would often ask me, “Where did you buy that?” After hearing this question many times, I decided to create my own online shop and share useful products with others.

I enjoy researching products and discovering technology that can make everyday life easier and save people time. I especially enjoy helping my family and friends find useful products and solutions.

I studied multimedia starting in 2010, and I continue to learn because technology is always changing. Learning new skills is important to me, and I am passionate about using creativity and technology to build my future.

Alongside TheHeyShop, I am also interested in creating my own event business. My dream is to develop businesses that connect people, provide useful services, and make a positive difference.
